About the citizens for a better Buffalo

Citizens for a better Buffalo is a volunteer organization, the startup funding for which came from the Margaret L. Wendt Foundation. Citizens for a Better Buffalo has since received funding from many other Buffalo organizations and individuals.

The activities of Citizens for a Better Buffalo are directed by a steering committee currently composed of Wendt Foundation Trustees Janet Day, Tom Lunt and Robert Kresse; Citizens Against Casino Gambling in Erie County co-chair Mary Bartley; Buffalo attorney Dianne Bennett; and SUNY Distinguished Professor Bruce Jackson.

The first major action sponsored by Citizens for a Better Buffalo was the lawsuit filed in Buffalo's federal district court January 3 seeking to stop the establishment of a Buffalo casino.
